New Delhi, Jan. 31 2012: Somany Ceramics Ltd has entered into a manufacturing and distribution partnership with Italy's IRIS GranitiFiandre Group. It will now market products from the group in India through its 65 exclusive franchise showrooms and select dealership.
Mr Abhishek Somany, Joint Managing Director, Somany Ceramics said, “The Italian group has fixed a transfer pricing for us so there is no question of revenue sharing. They will do the below-the line activities and branding.”
The tiles made with ‘Active green technology' are self-cleaning, , thanks to the presence of photo-catalytic material that degrades pollutants, claimed Mr Valentino Capucci, Research and Development Head, Fiandre Group. “These tiles are more effective for outdoors,” he said.
Somany Ceramic will market two sizes of the Active tiles- 2 by 2 feet and 15 inches by 19 inches, and they will be priced between Rs 350 plus tax and Rs 450 plus tax per square feet.
Somany Ceramics Ltd. has two franchise options available with investment ranging between Rs. 20 to 50 Lakhs. Franchisees seeking to start a Somany Ceramics franchise would need to have space between 600 to 1200 sq feet in metros and 800 to 1400 sq feet in non metros.
